The Mountain School 2014 Summer Camps

We're looking forward to a great summer with your children here at The Mountain School!

CAMPS FOR 4-6 YEAR OLDS:

Little Sprouts Art, Farm, & play:  Ages: 4-6 Cost: $160 per week incl tax

Dates: July 8-10 and July 22-24, Tues/Wed/Thurs 9-3pm

Join a sweet daily rhythm for 4-6 year olds with games, songs, finger games, free play on our beautiful campus in the trees, simple nature crafts and baking.  Mornings include farm-time: collecting eggs, planting and harvesting vegetables, and afternoons include outdoor exploration, hiking nature trails adjacent to the campus and time playing in age appropriate waterways.

Circus Arts Camp:  Ages: 4-6 - Cost: $160 including tax

Dates: July 15-17 :  Tues/Wed/Thurs 9-3pm

In addition to time with the animals, collecting eggs, and outdoor exploration, and afternoon walks to the river on adjacent nature trails, children will have fun with circus related simple crafts and activities, have fun with balance challenges, scavenger hunts and so much more!

Outdoor GALORE Camp:  Ages: 4-6 - Cost $160 per week incl. tax

Dates: July 29-31 and Aug. 12-14:  Tues/Wed/Thurs 9-3pm

In addition to time on the farm collecting eggs, visiting the bunnies & goats, children will explore the great outdoors with wet and wild water fun, picnics, obstacle courses, tall tales and many more activities to celebrate the elements of nature.

Flower Power:  Ages: 4-6 - Cost $160 per week incl. tax

Dates: August 5-7  Tues/Wed/Thurs 9-3pm

Our sweet daily rhythm of games, songs, finger games, free play will be infused with crafts using the beautiful flowers from our gardens. Mornings include farm time-collecting eggs, planting and harvesting vegetables, and afternoons include outdoor exploration, hiking and time playing in age approriate waterways.

 

CAMPS FOR 6-9 YEAR OLDS

WILDLANDS AND WATERING CANS:  ages: 6-9 - Cost: $230 per week incl tax

Dates: July 7-10 and July 14-17: Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs 9-3pm

Imagine yourself in the forest seeking the elusive wild nettle, deftly weaving willow baskets to hold the prize, and then relaxing next to the cool river while savoring the berries and sugar peas you picked earlier that day.  Unite with new friends and old!  Summer camp with Mr. Miles will balance riparian exploration, garden arts, swimming and fairy tale adventure.  Ms. Siemon will make guest appearances and bring in even more nature arts and crafts to your day.

 

ART, FARM & WOODCRAFTING:  Ages 6-9 - Cost: $230 per week incl tax.

Dates:  July 21-24, Aug. 4-7:  Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs 9-3pm

Your child will spend their week with experienced Waldorf Teacher Mr. Scott, enjoying summer as we all wish we had!  Days filled with music, dance, games, enthralling stories, painting, gardening, time with our resident animals and afternoons spent playing in safe river areas. They will also create fun and beautiful wood based crafts to take home!  All this, woven into a rhythmic and harmonious flow amidst the natural beauty of the farm, garden and nearby woodland.

 

ART, FARM & WILDERNESS:  Ages 6-9 - Cost: $230 per week incl tax.

Dates:  July 28-31 and Aug. 11-14 Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs 9-3pm

Your child will spend their week with experienced Waldorf Teacher Mr. Scott, enjoying summer as we all wish we had!  Days filled with music, dance, games, enthralling stories, painting, nature crafting, gardening, time with our farm animals and afternoons spent playing in safe river areas, all woven into a rhythmic and harmonious flow amidst the natural beauty of the farm, garden and nearby woodland.

 

primitive wilderness camps by Age:

 

Ages: 7-9 - Cost: $230 per week incl. tax:  Dates: July 14-17 and July 21-25:  Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs 9-3pm

Ages: 10-13 - Cost: $315 per week incl. tax:   Dates: Aug. 4-8:  Mon. -  Fri. 9-3pm

Ages: 14-16 - Cost: $315 per week incl tax:     Dates:  Aug. 11-15:  Mon. - Fri. 9-3pm

These popular camps,  led by our resident mountain-man, John DeLorenzo, will teach lasting wilderness and survival skills such fishing, building shelters, primitive water filtration and animal tracking.  Other activities may include long range archery, finding the perfect age appropriate swimming hole along the river, spotting great horned owls and other wildlife, primitive crafting, raft building and more fun surprises & skills as appropriate for each age group!
